Discover peace in life’s struggles with a gentle reflection on trusting God, surrendering control, and finding strength in hard-fought hallelujahs.
A few days ago, I came across a song called “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Brandon Lake.
It’s been playing on repeat ever since—not just in my headphones, but in my heart.
There was something about the quiet honesty of it. Something tender. Something true.
Because some hallelujahs are easy—they rise up in moments of joy, clarity, or peace.
But others… well, they come slowly. Through weariness. Through waiting. Through worry.
And those hallelujahs? The ones offered through struggle?
They hold a sacred weight—a depth that touches places words can’t always reach.
Living in a World Full of Uncertainty
Life isn’t easy.
We all face moments that shake us—moments filled with doubt, pain, or fear.
And in those moments, it can feel like God is distant or silent.
But the quiet, powerful difference I’ve come to know is this:
Even when the world feels heavy, God is near.
I don’t face these struggles alone.
Jesus Himself faced unimaginable trials, and He promised:
“Do not fear… for I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33
And in that promise, I find rest. I find peace. I find purpose. I find His loving kindness.
If God Feels Far
Maybe you’re reading this and God feels distant.
Or maybe you’ve never known Him, but something in your spirit is reaching, quietly.
I just want to tell you:
God is not angry. He’s not disappointed. He’s not hiding.
He’s waiting—with kindness. With patience. With love.
If you’ve never praised, if you don’t understand what a “hallelujah” even is… that’s okay.
You don’t have to have the right words.
You don’t have to feel anything special.
You can just take a breath and say in your heart,
“God, I surrender… show me the way.”
That’s a holy beginning.
And I believe God always responds to it.
For Those Who Know Him, But Are Tired
And if you do know God, if you’ve walked with Him but lately feel a little worn down, maybe even a little quiet inside—I want to remind you that your faith is not small.
You’re still here. You’re still seeking. You’re still trying to trust. That matters deeply.
You don’t have to have all the answers.
Sometimes, the most faithful thing is to simply trust quietly, surrendering control and allowing God to guide your steps.
As Proverbs 3:5-6 says,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
You are safe in His hands, even when you’re tired. Just keep believing and trusting.
Just a Small Step
So wherever you are—whether you have a loud hallelujah or none at all—maybe take just one small step.
Pause.
Breathe.
And let God in, even just a little.
Let Him sit with you in the quiet.
Let Him carry the thoughts that feel too heavy.
Let Him remind you that you were never meant to hold it all together.
And If You Remember Just One Thing…
Whether your hallelujah is loud, soft, delayed, or still finding its voice—know this:
You are seen. You are loved. And you are never alone.
God is still near.
Still listening.
Still reaching for you with open arms.
He is not just powerful—He is kind.
He is not just holy—He is gentle.
And even if you’ve walked far, His love has never taken a single step away from you.
I pray that the peace of God surrounds you today and that His love reminds you that you are not alone. May His mercy and compassion refresh, revive, renew your spirit and may you find many hallelujahs, in Jesus name. Amen.
